Technology requirements
Students are required to have access to a computer with high speed Internet, a word processing application and be capable of running Adobe Acrobat Reader and Power Point viewer.
Links to download the necessary applications will be provided. In addition, students must have access to an email account.
Computer requirements:
- Windows Computer with Pentium Processor and Windows 98SE or higher or
- Macintosh Computer: Power PC Processor and System 9.0 or higher (OS X preferred)
Minimum Hardware and Software required:
- 128 MB RAM
- Color monitor (16 bit, 800 x 600 resolution)
- 8x or faster CD-ROM drive
- Keyboard and mouse
- Direct network connection or 56K bps modem with Internet access. An active email account with an appropriated email address, capable of receiving files/attachments of significant size.
- Sound card and speakers
- Hard disk with at least 40 MB available
- Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher and course-specific plug-ins for the browsers. For Macintosh users, Internet Explorer 5.5 or Safari browser.
- Microsoft Word 2000 or higher.
- BCIS requires Microsoft Word 2003, Excel 2003, PowerPoint 2003, Access 2003 or higher.
